The first-ever color photographic history of Philadelphia by Hidden City Philadelphia

With PHILADELPHIA IN COLOR, 1950-1990, Hidden City aims to understand how Philadelphians experienced the stunning societal shifts of those decades, and ultimately reinterpreted and redefined the city in response to them. The book will include photos sourced from museums, archives, newspapers, libraries, professional photographers and the general public.

Originally, we set out to make a 300-page book with around 250 images – but the photo collection process was so overwhelmingly successful, we are now seeking sponsors so we can publish a much more expansive edition with 400+ photos.
